Recycling of skins

We chose to work with leather because it is a natural material known for its robustness and durability properties. At Nat&Nin, raw materials represent 40% of its carbon footprint.

Our leathers come from waste from the food industry, which without the tanning process would be doomed to be destroyed.

These quality raw materials are selected from recognized and controlled tanneries to guarantee manufacturing that respects the environment and health.

Choosing the right materials
& partners

The leathers are tanned according to the laws in force in the European community, in accordance with the REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization & Restriction of Chemicals) which limits the use of products harmful to the environment and health.

Most of our partner tanneries are LWG (Leather Working Group) certified, which is a guarantee of sustainability and responsible production in terms of energy. LWG is a protocol that certifies the tanning process in the use of energy and water, waste management and the use of chemicals previously adopted in the tanning processes.

"This sustainability approach is reflected in the close bond and solidity of our relationships with our suppliers and partners with whom we have worked since our beginnings nearly 15 years ago and allows us to ensure a level of environmental standards and well-being of their employees.”

Alternative to leather

This summer 2022, Nat&Nin is signing an elegant and timeless capsule where shiny leather meets a natural and authentic fiber: raffia.

Handcrafted in Madagascar, the Calvi tote bag and the Nikita baguette bag are transformed into bohemian it-bags.
